Jay Dickman

Jay Dickman has been shooting pictures professionally for more than 25 years. Dickman was the winner of the 1983 Pulitzer Prize for Feature Photography for his coverage of the war in El Salvador, as well as the World Press Golden Eye and The Sigma Delta Chi Gold Medal for Distinguished Service in Journalism, as well as several other regional and national photography awards. A frequent contributor to National Geographic (with well over a dozen assignments), as well as TIME, Life, Fortune and Forbes, his work appears in leading publications around the world. He is also a Contributing Editor to American Way Magazine (the in-flight magazine for American Airlines) and POLO Magazine. Dickman’s work also appeared in almost all of the “Day in a Life of...” series including: America, China, the Soviet Union, Spain, Italy, Ireland and California, as well as the Interactive books, “Passage to Vietnam” and “Twenty Four Hours in Cyberspace.”

To help amateur photographers improve the quality of their images, Jay Dickman, a Pulitzer-Prize winning photographer and Lexar Elite Member, and Jay Kinghorn, an Adobe Photoshop Certified Expert, partnered to author Perfect Digital Photography (McGraw-Hill; 2005), a full-color book with stunning photographs that show results anyone can achieve.
