Rolando Gomez
Rolando Gomez transitioned from combat photography to glamour and beauty photography in 1999, though he still freelances as a photojournalist. He first book, Garage Glamour™--Professional Digital Photography Techniques (April 2006) made the Amherst Media, all time, Top 25 best selling list. His second book, Rolando Gomez’s Glamour Photography: Professional Techniques and Images is already selling at record numbers. Gomez packs audiences with his “flamour” (fashion & glamour) style of photography instruction, most recently as a Lighting Master at Photo Plus Expo. At the Photo Imaging and Design Expo 2005, an overflow crowd was turned away by the fire marshal during his presentation there.
He’s taught 127-consecutively sold-out glamour and beauty workshops from Mexico to Canada and is a contributing writer for Studio Photography. He’s an instructor/speaker at FotoFusion, Julia Dean Photo School, Samy’s Camera Learning Center, and the Palm Beach Photographic Center. When not shooting glamour or speaking at Expos, Gomez is an NBA credentialed photographer that covers the San Antonio Spurs for the Spanish press. Most recently, he was the cover story for Rangefinder (Sept. 2006) and the featured photographer in Leica World News (Jan. 2006). In 1994 he was selected as one of the top-five military photographers world-wide by the Dept. of Defense and is working on his next three books, The Art of Lighting for Impact, Photographic Therapy, and One Light, One Chair.
Some of his credits include Parade, Studio Photography, Playboy, People, New York Times, St. Martin’s Press, Rangefinder, Peterson’s 4-Wheel Drive & Off Road, U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force, Airman, Army Times, Soldiers, AOL/TimeWarner and various others.
