Installing Drivers for Lexar Card Readers (Windows)
Installation Instructions
- Download the appropriate driver file for your reader from the drivers page
- Close all programs you have running before starting the installation
- Double-click on the driver file you saved to the hard drive
- Follow the on-screen instructions
- To use the reader:
- Plug the USB cable into the USB port on your computer
- Insert a memory card into the reader
- Drag and drop files to your computer
If "n/a" is Listed Instead of a Driver File
- No driver files are needed
- To use the reader:
- Plug the USB cable into the USB port on your computer
- Insert a memory card into the reader
- Drag and drop files to your computer
Uninstalling Drivers for Lexar Card Readers (Windows)
If the Lexar reader you are currently using is USB Mass Storage compliant, there is no need to uninstall any drivers, simply unplug the device from your computer.
For the JumpShot Cable, CompactFlash Reader and SmartMedia Reader
Windows 98SE
- Go to Start/Programs/JumpShot/Remove JumpShot Files (or name of reader you are trying to uninstall)
- Click on Remove JumpShot files
- Follow the instructions on the dialog box that appears
Windows Me/2000
- Go to Start/Programs/JumpShot/Remove JumpShot Files (or name of reader you are trying to uninstall)
- Click on uninstall
- Follow the instructions on the dialog box that appears
- When complete, right click on the My Computer icon and then left click on Properties
- Go to Hardware, then click on Device Manager
- Find the Universal Serial Bus Controller and look for the Lexar reader name under it
- Right click on the reader name, then click uninstall
- Note: The filename may not be exactly as stated above, as it varies by reader. Some reader filenames mention the type of memory card in the name as well.
For the Memory Stick Reader
Windows 98SE/Me/2000
- Go to Start/Programs/Lexar USB Memory Stick Reader/Remove Lexar USB Memory Stick Reader
- Click on Remove Lexar USB Memory Stick Reader
- When the uninstall is complete, click on OK
