Team Lexar Wins Prestigious Jane Tate Memorial Award In The Rolex Sydney Hobart Race

FREMONT, Ca., January 3, 2005 – Lexar Media, Inc. (Nasdaq: LEXR), a leader in advanced digital media and accessories, celebrated the success of Team Lexar, the company sponsored UK crew participating in the prestigious Rolex Sydney Hobart Race. Finishing 37th overall, Team Lexar was awarded the Jane Tate Memorial Award, for being the highest placed boat skippered by a woman.

Team Lexar, skippered by London based Jakki Moores, accomplished quite an achievement as the amateur crew hailing mainly from the UK held their own among seasoned professionals. With 55 of the fleet retired after three days at sea, the 2004, 60th anniversary Sydney to Hobart yacht race was one of the toughest since 1998.
