Lexar Introduces Mobile Software Platform PowerToGo as Free Trial Download on its Website
PowerToGo Software Lets Users Run Many Standard Windows Applications From Lexar JumpDrive USB Flash Drives; The trial version will automatically upgrade to a full version when installed on a JumpDrive Lightning

FREMONT, Calif., July 13, 2006 - Lexar Media, Inc., a leader in advanced digital media and accessories, today announced that it has posted a free trial version of its new PowerToGo™ portable software platform on its website (www.lexar.com). PowerToGo software enables users of Lexar JumpDrive® USB flash drives to install and run many standard Windows applications directly from their JumpDrive product. Using a customized solution provided by Ceedo Technologies Ltd., the PowerToGo platform was developed to provide an enhanced mobile solution for Lexar JumpDrive customers, virtually letting them "carry" and access their familiar PC environment, including many of their data and applications, wherever they go.

The PowerToGo download will be available as a free trial version that can be installed on all Lexar USB flash drives. After the trial period users will be given the option of purchasing the full version for $29.95. However, for optimum performance, Lexar recommends using a speed-rated High-Performance JumpDrive product, such as the JumpDrive Lightning. In fact, JumpDrive Lightning owners will enjoy an automatic upgrade to a full version of the PowerToGo platform free of charge - all they need to do is install the trial software. Upon installation the software will recognize the JumpDrive Lightning and it will automatically generate a license. In addition Lexar is planning to begin shipments of 1GB and 2GB JumpDrive Lightning drives pre-loaded with a full version of the PowerToGo software in July 2006.

Lexar's PowerToGo software will allow users to download a wide variety of pre-approved standard Windows applications through a simple one-click process. There are over one hundred pre-approved applications in categories such as productivity tools, web browsers, email clients, games, IM and telephony. However, if a customer wishes to install a Windows application that does not exist on Lexar's list of pre-approved applications, they will be able to purchase a platform add-on called "InstallAnything" which will enable them to install many standard Windows applications to their JumpDrive product. InstallAnything will be available for an additional $29.95.
