Lexar Media Expands Intellectual Property Enforcement
FREMONT, Calif., November 5, 2002 -- Lexar Media. Inc. (Nasdaq: LEXR),
a leading developer of flash mass storage systems and an innovator of high-performance
digital media and accessory products, today announced that it had expanded its
efforts to protect its intellectual property as follows:

Lexar Media today filed in Santa Clara County Superior Court a lawsuit alleging
theft of trade secrets and breach of fiduciary duty claims against Toshiba
Corporation, Toshiba America, Inc. and Toshiba America Electronics Corporation.
The basis of the allegations is that since the inception of Lexar Media in
1996, and including the period from 1997 through 1999 when Toshiba was represented
on the Board of Directors of Lexar Media, Toshiba had access to and was presented
with details of Lexar Media's methods of achieving high performance flash
devices that Toshiba has now incorporated into its flash chips and flash systems.

Lexar Media and Toshiba Corporation have recently commenced litigation regarding
the issue of whether Toshiba infringes fourteen of Lexar Media's patents in
United States District Court in the Northern District of California. This
case is captioned Toshiba Corporation v. Lexar Media, Inc., Case No. C02 05273
(RS).

Lexar Media yesterday filed an amended complaint in its litigation against
Fuji Photo Film USA, Inc. (which is currently pending in United States District
Court for the Eastern District of Texas) alleging that Fuji Photo's cameras
(in addition to its flash card products) infringe Lexar Media's patents. This
case is captioned Lexar Media, Inc. v. Fuji Photo Film USA, Inc., Civil Action
No. 9:02cv178.
