From the Irish Sea to the Bass Strait Lexar's Amateur crew of friends compete in 60th Sydney to Hobart
This year marks the 60th anniversary of the Sydney to Hobart yacht race and the 100 strong fleet set sail from Sydney Harbour on Boxing Day. Since the first race in 1945, the
Hobart has grown into one of the greatest Category 1 Ocean Races. Covering 628 nautical miles, the Hobart is renowned as on of the most exciting, challenging and sometimes
treacherous ocean races in the sailing calendar.
Lexar is sponsoring a boat in the Sydney to Hobart race. Team Lexar is representing the Royal Ocean Racing Club and have more than one incentive for achieving a high placing.
The Lexar crew will be raising money to support Marie Curie Cancer Care. Skippered by Jakki Moores the team will also be aiming to win the Jane Tate Memorial Award for the
highest placed boat skippered by a female.
