Lexar PowerToGo Software Trial Installation Personal. Private. Portable. Introduction Installation note: PowerToGo trial software will only work on Lexar JumpDrive USB flash drives in Windows XP and 2000 environments. We suggest using speed-rated JumpDrive Lightning for the best performance. If you already own JumpDrive Lightning, click here. If you own JumpDrive Secure, click here. 1. Back up your data If you have existing data on your drive, it is always a good idea to back up your data before installing new software of any kind. To do so, simply create a folder on your desktop and drag the contents of your drive to the folder. 2. Format your JumpDrive USB flash drive For optimum performance, it is recommended that you format your drive using FAT16 (FAT). Windows will defaults to FAT32, but for drives with a stated capacity of less than 4GB, FAT performs better. If you choose to do this, be sure to back up your data first. 3. Download the PowerToGo installer To download the PowerToGo installer, click here and save it to your desktop. 
If you see a gold information bar located above this web page in your browser, click it and select Download File from the information bar menu. 
If the information bar does not appear automatically, click here to manually download the installation file. 5. Run the PowerTo Go Installation file Run the PowerToGo installation file with your Lexar JumpDrive USB flash drive attached 
You will be asked if you want to run the PowerToGoInstaller.exe file; click Run to continue. If you get an additional confirmation window, click Run again. 
6. Select the target drive 
Note: drive letter may vary based on host computer Select the target drive for your PowerToGo installation and click OK. PowerToGo will now install its components on that drive. 7. Welcome to PowerToGo! Once the installation is complete, your PowerToGo software will start automatically. Thank you for downloading the trial version of Lexar PowerToGo software. We hope you will enjoy all the new functionality that PowerToGo brings to your Lexar JumpDrive USB flash drive. JumpDrive Lightning customers Your high-speed JumpDrive Lightning is an ideal platform for PowerToGo. As a gesture of goodwill to existing JumpDrive Lightning customers, Lexar is offering a free version of PowerToGo software, even if you purchased your JumpDrive long before the inclusion of PowerToGo. Please note: Your JumpDrive Lightning drive includes security software that actually partitions (and thus erases) the drive and thus the two software solutions should not be used in conjunction with one another. Please back up your JumpDrive Lightning software (by copying it to your desktop) before installing PowerToGo. Then take your time (you are under no trial period restrictions) to decide which piece of software you wish to run from your JumpDrive. Our technical support team supports both products but does not support the interaction of the two. How do I get PowerToGo? JumpDrive Lightning customers should simply install the PowerToGo trial version. The trial version will recognize JumpDrive Lightning automatically and you will be granted a license to PowerToGo. JumpDrive Secure customers  Your JumpDrive Secure shipped with security software that actually partitions (and thus erases) the drive and thus the two software solutions should not be used in conjunction with one another. Before installing the trial version, please back up your drive software (by copying it to your desktop). During the 60-day trial period, decide which piece of software you wish to run from your JumpDrive. Our technical support team will support both products but will not support the interaction of the two.
