Recently, professional photographer Michele Hofherr made her way into the bamboo forest in Golden Gate Park to take some shots. "I just thought it would be an interesting place to take a camera. This part of the park was so quiet that I thought, rather than take pictures of the bamboo from the outside, I would go inside and take images from that perspective. The height of the bamboo, the light winding through and the overall serenity of the location made it the perfect place to take some shots," Hofherr explains.

Unfortunately, making her way through a densely packed forest and attempting to set up a shot are not always the ideal conditions for capturing great photos. Hofherr could not use a tripod, due to the density of the forest. So Hofherr found a way to steady her camera - she wrapped her arm around one of the sturdier bamboo chutes and started shooting. With her trained eye and her trusty Canon 20D, she captured some really unique and beautiful shots from a place that not many people have thought to take shots.

Michele Hofherr has taken a winding road to arrive at the point in her career she now occupies. She did not attend photography school, or even art school. Hofherr started out as a talent agent working with movie stars and television actors in New York and Los Angeles, before moving to San Francisco. Her experience includes producing, representing talent, casting and managing a commercial photography studio.

When she first started out in photography, Michele Hofherr mostly shot black and white portraiture with traditional film. "I liked the way that film captured black and white images," Hofherr points out. "I just didn't see a reason for switching over to digital media. I was happy with the photos I was getting, so I did not see the need to make the transition."

Eventually, however, Hofherr's work evolved. She was slowly moving into shooting children and families, then lifestyle images, editorial and finally commercial photography. She also found that she was shooting more in color than before. Even though she was a slow adapter, she now shoots digitally, and finds that Lexar Professional CompactFlash cards suit her various needs the best. In fact, since making the transition from traditional film to flash memory, Hofherr has only used Lexar cards.

"When I eventually moved out of capturing images on film and over to using digital memory cards, I needed a card that I could trust completely, and Lexar had the reliability and performance that my work requires," Hofherr states. "I don't need any surprises when it comes to my equipment."

Michele Hofherr finds that whether she is shooting a quiet bamboo forest, a scene for a commercial shoot, or a family on a picnic, she knows that she can rely on her Lexar memory cards to keep all of her images safe. "I enjoy the peace-of-mind that comes with trusting my equipment to be as high-performance as I need it to be. Lexar CF cards are versatile enough and reliable enough to store any image that my eyes capture."

For that reason, Hofherr trusts Lexar Professional 4GB 133X CF cards for her work. "In commercial photography, I need to be able to capture my shots and deliver them to my clients in a timely fashion. Lexar's cards are not only large enough to capture all the shots I need without switching cards, but at 133X, they are fast enough to capture and store just about any image without having to wait to take my next shot," she points out. "I can shoot longer without interruption and still deliver great shots to my clients, on time."
