Question: Why my SD/microSD card does NOT able to reach the speed advertised by the manufacturer?

Reply: The speed of SD/microSD can be affected by muitiple factors, eg. computer interface, data cable, card reader, test file size, number of files, etc that you choose.  If your SD/microSD card has a low speed, we recommend you to check the following:

  1. Check your computer interface, does it support USB3.0 or above? Is the USB interface protocol read by your computer USB3.0 or above? USB2.0 only supports a maximum of 48MB/s.USB3.0 can support maximum speed of 5Gbps or 600MB/s.
  2. Check your cable. Is your data cable support the speed higher than the speed of the card? eg. Type C Cable with USB 3.0 can support maximun speed of 600MB/s.
  3. Check your card reader. Is the speed supported by the card reader higher than the speed of the card. Due to the proprietary technology used in the Silver series, it is recommended to test the speed with the Lexar RW310x, otherwise the test results may not meet the advertised speed.
  4. We recommend you to use a single file larger than 1GB for testing. A large number of small files will affect the testing speed.
